They'd - we'd - better start acting more like that. Conservatives have been too browbeaten by the far left - the first thing they always do is to try to turn you into a RINO. Those people are not able to be reasoned with and the right should stop pretending that they can be.

The reasons we don't are manifold.

1. We tend to have complete chromosome sets.
2. Reason, logic, appeals to morality and the like are our preferred modes of protest.
3. We lead by example in the battle to control dangerous mind altering drugs.
4. Self respect, and an aversion to the life-long humiliation that comes from making a such a public spectacle of oneself.
5. Sufficient imagination to know exactly which southerly part of a north-bound horse we’d resemble if we behaved so.
6. Our opponents generally do not warrant that much effort.
7. We could never be so good at being complete thug-clowns.

Protest at NC university stops speech by Tancredo

Hundreds of protesters denouncing Tancredo's tough stances against illegal immigration gathered at Bingham Hall on Tuesday evening, shouting profanities at the former Colorado congressman, who tried to speak about his opposition to in-state tuition for unauthorized immigrants.

Activists complain about treatment at UNC protest

Three campus activists have filed a complaint about alleged police force and use of pepper spray against protesters angry at the anti-illegal immigration stance of former Colorado congressman Tom Tancredo, who was speaking at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

That latest episode (poor Tancredo's been the victim of this before) was disgraceful.

I'm as big a free speech advocate as the next conservative or libertarian, but these kids are preventing others from speaking. Whatever happened to picketing outside of the hall? That's what they should be doing (well, not really, but you get my drift).

And, oh, BTW--not that I ever suspected that things hadn't changed since I went to college (), but we'd have had our sorry behinds suspended (at least) for disrupting the speech of an invited guest.
