being that it is 0bama and most everything he has done since he got in office is socialist-like, I don't trust anything he does/ says.
If this is Obama's school speech, I don't really have a problem with it. (As long as they don't show that "I Pledge" video, and don't use the over-the-top classroom assignments that were supposed to go with it)

The opposition better start walking back from the acrimony over this and fast. This is boilerplate. If we keep at it, Obama's media surrogates will have plenty of material to attack us as blind partisans.
"Look at the [insert ad hominem generalization] anti-Obama hacks. They don't even like it when he tells kids to stay in school. See, here's his speech, here's what they say about it."
This is as much a "pick your battles" moment as anything could possibly be.
I have a feeling this speech was prepared after all the stink about it, but what can you do. Score one for Dear Leader if he sticks to the speech linked above. There is nothing in that speech we wouldn't applaud if it were anyone else giving it.

Pick your battles moment? Maybe this has to do with the fact that people are waking up to the socialist's agenda and are getting fed up. I don't think anyone has a problem with a President telling kids to stay in school..this is about the timing. The last seven months of Obama in your face, the economy, unemployment and now wanting to push through government run health care, the feeling is "what's next"? Obama in the classroom in your kids face? Hell No....
The kids have enough to do starting back to school. Most won't even know their teachers names, where the crayons are, let alone where the bathrooms are.... then to have to listen to a long speech by an arrogant egotisitical President? I'm surprised the WH didn't send life size posters of Chairman Obama to put up in the classrooms and hallways, along with all the teaching materials.
PRESIDENT OBAMA: We cannot continue to rely only on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we've set. We've got to have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well funded.
I completely agree. If Bush would've given a similar speech to students I doubt many of us would've cared. It was the assignments and that video that really had me frosted.
There were really only two objectionable parts to that speech:
1. (near the end) "I’m working hard to fix up your classrooms and get you the books, equipment and computers you need to learn." So, if they get their goodies, they can thank him personally; and if they don't, they can blame those nasty Republicans who won't give Obama what he wants.
2. It is wayyy too long for most of the kids who will be listening. He's going to lose them. Hmmmm....might not be a bad thing after all.![]()

they are already saying those things when we don't do anything... and who cares? I don't...and obviously a lot of people don't. The teachers better be sensititive to this, because if kids get pulled out of school in numbers, the districts won't get their money for that day for those kids.
It's about time parents stood up to the crap that goes on in their kids schools and put the socialists on notice.
