barack obama. Living proof Affirmative Action doesn't work!
Well you would get a combined "viewership" - but the fact that some non-mainstream show beat out any given other is still indicative.
Do they still use Nielsen boxes, or is it estimates now?
Besides, I'd bet anything a sizable chunk of those "viewers" had the TV on and were pissed their "regular show" was pre-empted.
A similar thing happened during W's tenure as well, but I think it was NBC who didn't carry a presser. The point I take from all this is Chairman Zero doesn't have quite the adoring masses he once had (say in November) - a great many of his voters voted for him becuase it was "cool, hip, and fashionable". They've now moved back to reality TV or counting their toes.

The novelty has officially worn off, at least among those watching Barack Obama’s prime-time press conferences not employed by the national media. Obama lost 21 million viewers from his first prime-time presser in February, according to James Hibberd, and it looks like Fox made the right call in sticking with its scheduled broadcast:Wednesday night’s prime time press conference to mark Barack Obama’s 100th day in office was viewed by 28.8 million people, according to Nielsen.
That’s a 29% drop from the president’s last press conference, on March 24.

LOL....that's because they were all watching the FOX channel
No ... not ALL of 'they' ... I know that most of my neighborhood was out throwing a football up and down the street, while our children were riding bikes, flying kites, and playing soccer in my front lawn. You know, doing things that matter, and REALLY make a difference.
Embarrassing, but I could not even begin to tell you if the TV was on, let alone what channel it was showing.
I fell asleep...
